Womble... As a rider who as been around (in the nicest possible sense!, possibly 'known' is a better word here?) all sorts of clubs for many years, and is just about old enough to remember the 'disputes' of the 70's I commend you on a nicely conscise summary.

From my experience ALL clubs are different and have differing levels of dedication/loyalty/attitude, but the comment of 'don't disrepect them' is a safe start point for anyone! cool2.gif

Nice write up Womble, it has confirmed the way i saw things and clarified some others for me. I am club secretary and founder member of the Petrolheads M.C.C, the way you have desribed the M.C.C club is uncanny.

Three years ago i was a member of The Blackhawks M.C.C, after a year or so i was in discussion with two other members (who were already mates of mine) about trying some thing our selfs. We approached the Blackhawks with our plan and they wished us well.

We have now been running for almost three years, we only have 7 members with two apprentices. As much as we respect the structure of the MC and Brotherhood clubs we chose not to subscribe to that kind of structure, and try to avoid the politics as best we can.

We are as you rightly described, a bunch of mates riding and rallying together, we do have subs, we have a secretary, an events manager and a tresurer. We do try to keep some structure however, non payment of subs after 3 months will invoke membership review, colours to be worn at parties and rallies (waist coats/cut offs optional) and a general respect for other club members.

We do what we can to help each other out, between us we have tools, trailer, spray equipment etc etc.

Respect.

womble
thank you folks

if it helps someone a little then it has done it's job.

ravinmadrider :"the way you have desribed the M.C.C club is uncanny."

That could well be that over the years i have been
Prez of one MCC
V.Prez of another MCC
A MAG rep for 4 years
London rep for NABD 2 n half yrs
& i have run a chapter for CW for almost 10 years

I am a 3rd generation biker
Both my dad & grandad where MC members

& i do get to see all sides of things as I spend most weekends DJing at rallies for clubs of all sorts & sizes.

At the End of the day treat everyone as you yourself would like to be treated & you will never go wrong

AS Ima will tell you I have a favourite word & apply both the idea & the word to all & everything

RESPECT

Sorry Druid I dont stick my bhead in this section that often.

Owners clubs mmmmmmmm

i dont think they really fit anywhere they are a league off thier own

most tend to be very closed shop sort of thing & dont really even mix with other clubs

there are a few that really get out there & party one that comes to mind straight away is AMOC

they get everywhere

Went a rally in france they was there

germany they was there too Belgium yep they was there as well

mind you it is the same chapter of AMOC every time

Erm......[strains to think of summat to test the Womblemeister]......ah yeah. Where do 'Choppers' sit on the Universal Club ladder, e.g. Orange County Choppers, Iron Cannibal Choppers etc. Are they like mechanics clubs or what?
raveyd
As a relative newbie biker, that was very informative - thanks Womble buttrock.gif

I think you will find they are not clubs at all but manufacturers of custom bikes in America, though if you search for ICC all you will find is T-shirts.

The club i'm in isn't any of those on your list Womble, we are just The Sisterhood, the local hierarchy decided we couldn't be a MCC rolleyes.gif not that it makes any difference to us.
womble
Im sure i said in there somewhere that i will try to cover the main different sorts of clubs.

I am pretty sure there are a few clubs out there in bikerdom that don't fit in to any of those i mentioned
