If you already have your cbt it might just be under £500

It cost me £380 for DAS 3 years ago

If you do pass your test, take it easy. That attitude may get yourself killed on the road

I paid 525 for a 4 day intensive course, including theory and pracical test fees and the Hire of a Honda CG125.

The actual test itself costs about £60 i believe

There is no fixed price for test training mate. you can book the test yourself with the dsa and it costs about £55. You may pass and you may not.

training is usually priced by the day for intensive courses or by the session ( maybe two hours a session) if you take it piecemeal. The amount of training needed is what determines the cost. usually an instructor would follow you for half an hour or more and assess your riding and your abillity to take instruction. the amount of days or sessions or hours or whatever would then determine the cost.

Thats how we do it anyway, and how most other training schools do it as well. if you want a rough guide then look at a hundred quid to a hundred and fifty quid a day depending on where you live ( costs less here for instance than it does in london.)
hope that helps.

As Zombie said - I've just done my CBT (1 day on a SR125) & DAS (3 days on a CB500).

I Paid £450 which was for everything, including my theory/hazard perception test and the bike test itself.

But I was quoted anything up to £650 by other places.

I know that they also do an evaluation for people who already ride and then advise on what you will need - best to go to a couple of your local training schools and ask.

Yeah... i think i paid about £500 in May last year (for 4 days).... i'm pretty sure that it included the CBT aswell.

... plus bike hire etc etc

Phone up BSM in your area, they were pretty good to me.

try and get a recommendation from previous students of any training school .

there's training and there's training.

Thanks everyone.

I am quite experienced on the 125cc now and have racked up well over 2000 miles already. Bearing this in mind I hope that I will need little extra tuition.

The need for power is not just for the sake of it, its really so I can a) commute to wider afield b) do long distace travel on the motorway.

Just another thing do you need any part of a car licence to do the full bike test?? i.e.theory
Fazerstun
Nope, you just need the provisional licence with the bike entitlement on it. AFAIK you have to do the theory test again smile1.gif
jasonc
Theory test and hazrd perception has to be done for a motorcycle or car unfortunately you can't do one for both each are seperate!!!

One more thing if your over 21 the DAS would be about £300 for 3 day course at least thats what my mate paid last year.

I just paid the £51 for the test because im under 21!!! grin.gif
