I put two capfulls of redex in the tank last night, and it doesn't seem to have made the slightest bit of difference.

Do you think it would be worth selling the bike as a project/spares/repairs?

So your convinced the engine is shot then? lets see whats a 125 Burghman with shot engine worth.......slightly less than f all I`d think. you`d do better to find a local non dealer type bike mechanic to have a look and quote you for the re-build. Save youself a good few quid and remove the engine as for him to remove and re- fit is time consuming and that costs. but dont do it before they have a look at it.

Good point, more than likely me just jumping to conclusions -- as I do.

Just out of curiosty, would I be able to fit a Burgman 150cc engine in, as they are all relatively the same aren't they.

Chances are yes, but I`m not that familiar with scoots. what they normally do is increase the barrel and piston size to gain the extra cc`s everthing else is normally the same.

Just come back after a short ride to tesco's, I do have an extra 5-10mph on the flat, but slowing down alot on hills.

I was thinking about sticking a 150 engine in, didn't realise you would have to increase the barrel and piston size though.

The new engine will already have the larger barrel and piston, that's why it's the 150 not a 125. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lbhh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lbhh.gif)

Where is that name and shame list??

Stripped fairings off, and it does not look good.

Have a blocked oil pipe, and the Carb has completely locked :s

Thats what the mechanic told me, I have no idea what it means though.

He has also suggested I go-to the DFT, and lodge an official complaints in against the garage I had paid to do the work (the work which is now being re-done as the first ones f*cked up).

Hopefully have her back by tommorow, want to soak up this lovely weather before it ends.

If you're going to make a complaint you need a report from the new mechanic about what he found when he looked at it.

Yeah, might be a little too late now though.

After further inspection, the machnic has said there looks to be a sensor of some-sort on the Carb itself, he *thinks* it could/may be that.

He took the exhaust off aswell, and has found nothing to suggest it is a build-up of carbon.

Currently trying to find another 125, and he's going to swap the carb's over, and see if that makes any difference.

He has also suggested it could be the gear changes, as at high rev, it is sticking (it can go higher), so he is going to check that aswell.

Looks like she'll be off the road for sometime in anycase.

How much do you reckon he would charge for all this? -- a straight forward sale of the little x-reg 50 I have (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) and thats only worth 120 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)
